My Mother has gastroesophageal reflux disease (gicare.com/Diets/GERD.as…) and must avoid certain foods. This condition makes it a challenge to find restaurants. Are there any restaurants that people you know with acid reflux prefer?
For instance, the following foods must be avoided:
* fatty or fried foods
* peppermint and spearmint
* whole milk
* creamed foods or soups
* most fast foods
so no McDonalds. :)
I have pretty bad GERD. I take a prescription antacid pill every day and as long as I don't drown myself in grease/fat or acid, I'm fine.
As long as she can learn moderation and not be too prone to eating spicy stuff, it should be fine almost anywhere. If I don't go nuts I can eat Indian, Thai, Mexican, any 'American' and whatever else strikes my fancy. Always ask for 'mild' and read the menu carefully.

How does she do with Vietnamese?
Vietnamese would be good; it'll be a slight hassle to pack up the leftovers each time since the amounts tend to be big. :) Hungry's is a bit of a drive from us and it has two $$ according to Yelp so my frugal parents would probably balk at the prices.
